I am overjoyed to have the support and endorsement of the Minneapolis DFL. I owe this honor to campaigns, community groups, and volunteers throughout the city, who brought thousands of people into the endorsement process. I could not have become the sole endorsed candidate in this citywide race without you.
And I want to thank the thousands of us who are the Minneapolis DFL. Our desire to see a more responsive, equity-focused, and people-oriented city government has been resoundingly heard today.
The DFL’s commitment to inclusion is more than a slogan, it is something that DFLers want carried out in every part of our government. I look forward to the remainder of the campaign, and hearing more ideas for overseeing the city’s finances with an eye to transparency, inclusivity, and equity.
There are two at-large BET seats open this year. As the only Minneapolis DFL-endorsed BET candidate, I look forward to serving on the BET and working constructively with every other BET member.
Together, we can ensure the city gets the most out of the power we have to invest in ourselves—particularly in communities that the city has neglected in the past—and to make sure our city’s finances and economic decisions are responsibly managed.
